Policy on Obtaining Mandatory Ethics Approval
“Environmental safety and natural resources”complies with the current legislation of Ukraine and follows the principles and recommendations of international organizations in the field of publication ethics and academic integrity, in particular COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), WAME (World Association of Medical Editors), and DORA (San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment). The journal upholds high ethical standards in conducting research involving humans, animals, the use of their biological materials, as well as in handling personal, confidential, or other sensitive data.
Obtaining mandatory ethics approval is required, in particular, in cases where the research:
- involves human participants as respondents in surveys, interviews, observations, experiments, or other forms of research interaction;
- is related to the use of biological materials of humans or animals;
- includes research involving animals;
- involves the collection, processing, analysis, or publication of personal, confidential, or other sensitive data;
- falls under other specific requirements of the legislation of Ukraine or internal regulations of the institution.
In the manuscript, authors must provide information about the obtained ethics approval, including the full name of the issuing body, the date of approval, and the number of the relevant document or protocol.
In the case of research involving human participants, authors must confirm that informed consent was obtained voluntarily, properly, and in a form understandable to the participants.
The publication of personal data, images, or any other information that allows direct or indirect identification of an individual is permitted only on a lawful basis and, where necessary, with the written consent of the respective person.
